And Baby Makes Five

I apologize for not keeping the blog updated this week. As some of you know, Tim and I are expecting our third child in late June and this pregnancy so far is kicking my butt. I don’t remember being this tired with the other two, but then again I was not chasing a two and three year old around either. Evening time, after the boys are in bed, is when I typically sit down to write my blog to post the next day. Now, the boys go to bed at 7:30 and I sit down on the couch to “rest a bit” and BAM I am a sleep. Opps, no post gets written.

So again, I apologize.

As I was doing chores tonight, I was thinking back to my first pregnancy and all the “rules” I followed. Don’t eat this, eat that, don’t do this, do that, etc, etc. For a first time mother-to-be it can be quite overwhelming. Now I don’t worry so much. Life goes on the same (besides the being tired all the time).  The only thing I really change is that I stop drinking raw milk and switch to buying it in the store (which gives me a great appreciation for everyone who does). Yes, the price is high, but remember you are paying a fair price to the Organic Valley farmers so that they can make a fair living.

As for work on the farm, that doesn’t really change either. I try to pull the “pregnancy card” every once in awhile, but Tim usually doesn’t buy it. When I had Jonnie, I even milked the night I went into labor.  I am not involved in any of the medical or vaccination work on the farm, so no worries there. I am also more careful with what I lift and I don’t let the calves butt me around, but other than that things stay the same.

I enjoy doing work on the farm while pregnant. It is good excercise and fresh air. It is much better than sitting in an office all day.

Please bear with me for the next few weeks. You might not see any recipes anytime soon (the thought of food right now is not good, even though I am hungry all the time).

Emily
